As the needle bends

A world view thru my hobbit hole door

Be sure to vote!

I voted on the first day of

early voting here in Texas.

Before any of the

usual suspects opened their

collective mouths and stuck

army boots in them.

Make sure you let your voice

be heard – early,

 or on Tuesday,

November 7!

  1. I voted early, before I left for Bahrain.

I won’t discuss my actual votes, but I think I made my intent clear before doing so.

I’ve always said that if you don’t vote, you can’t complain about the outcomes. I’m not about to abdicate my right to complain! I enjoy it too much… and they give me way too much to complain about.

  2. In Australia it is compulsory to vote. However, if it wasn’t I would vote as I count my vote as my right and a very important right. As Wino stated…I would have no right to complain about the state of this nation or the state in which I live, meaning Queensland, if I didn’t voice my opinion.
I enjoy standing up on my ‘soap-box’ too much to do
    otherwise!

  3. I guess I’m a little old fashioned. I vote on election day because I like it and I take my right to vote very seriously. I’m not a straight party ticket voter and do my homework before going to the ballot box. I guess I am what you would call an informed voter.
I wish it were compulsory to vote in the US! The turnout is really disgusting.

Neo, I too take my vote seriously. The only thing I wasn’t able to do before I voted was to find out which gubernatorial candidate was #2 but that likely would not have affected my vote. I don’t vote straight ticket, either. There is something satisfying about voting for each candidate individually, even if all the folks you vote for are in the same party. Silly, I suppose, but it’s just something I have always done.
