As the needle bends

A world view thru my hobbit hole door

My New Year’s Eve Mystery Quilt is NOT a UFO

For those  of you who read my last post, you already know that I was involved in a New Year’s Eve Mystery quilt this past weekend. And, since you haven’t seen any pictures, you’ve probably figured out that I didn’t finish the top in one day, like some of the other participants. I didn’t even finish it in 2 days – so can’t take a picture to share.

However, since I had to go back to work on Tuesday, and by Wednesday it has become apparant the other nine million commuters between “home” and “hospital” have also returned to work (or else they are just parking on the freeways to make my commute more interesting), I have not had time to work on it and don’t expect to before the coming weekend.  However, I have been assured that a quilting project doesn’t become a “UFO” (that’s Un-Finished Object for you non-quilters out there) until it is put aside for another project, and I haven’t had time to even think of another project so my NYE mystery quilt, while no longer a mystery, is definitely NOT a UFO.

My progress to date is all 12 of Block A complete, and 7 of  the 13 block B’s complete. So I honestly believe that I can get the other 6 block B’s completed (after all, I only have to sew on the top and bottom rows, which are already pieced and pressed and waiting on the sewing machine) and set together in a top this coming weekend, and then debate what kind of border I want to put on it… that is, if I don’t spend my whole life on some freeway in Houston.
