As the needle bends

A world view thru my hobbit hole door

Houston, We Have Achieved Seperation!

It’s been a long time since I mentioned the Sunbonnet Sue quilt restoration project. That’s because the progress has been glacially slow. However, tonight a milestone was reached.

The last of the unquilting was done – the top and the worn backing are in two (COUNT THEM – TWO) independent pieces. Well, actually there are three, because I also frog-stitched the block that will have to be reconstructed. The rest of the un-stitching will have to wait til I have more time, as I hope to salvage the blocks, largely “as is!”

I don’t have time to take a picture before I go to slumber-land but, trust me… This is a milestone for me! After all, you can’t re-construct something until you get through de-constructing it!!!!

  2. Good Job!! The holidays are here, and it is a busy time. I look forward to one day seeing a pic of the finished project.
